Goitom’s AIK suffer defeat in Swedish Allsvenskan League

Eritrean international Henok Goitom’s team AIK suffered defeat in a 2021 Swedish Allsvenskan League match played on Sunday.
BK Häcken came into the game bottom of the 16 team League, but defeated AIK 2-1 in a match played at the Bravida Arena.
Goitom and Nicolás Stefanelli came close to scoring for AIK, but missed their targets earlier in the first half. Patrick Walemark and Ali Youssef netted for BK Häcken. Bojan Kadulovic pulled one back for AIK.
The defeat sent Goitom’s team to fifth place with 14 points from nine matches played. Malmo FC lead the table with 20 points from 10 matches played, while Djurgarden FC who have played eight games are in second place with 17 points.
Goitom who last featured for the national team in 2019 during the FIFA World Cup preliminary round qualifier is also skipper of the Red Sea Boys.
