2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers: Eritrea qualify to face Tanzania

Eritrea has qualified for the second round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Eritrean team defeated Djibouti 3-0 in the second leg of the first round played at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa on Wednesday.
Diana Estifanos netted a brace, while Misgana Mehari scored the other to make sure Eritrea qualified on a 6-1 goal aggregate where they will now face Tanzania in the second round.
“I am happy that I managed to score two goals today and help my team qualify for the next stage,” said a happy Estifanos after the match.
The other teams in the CECAFA region still in contention include; Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi and Rwanda.
Three more rounds will be played, with two teams representing Africa in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to take place in Costa Rica.
