FIFA release agenda for 70th Congress

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has today released the agenda of the 70th FIFA Congress to take place on September 18th.

For the first time the Congress will be held by teleconference (online) because of the inability for members to travel as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Congress was meant to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Some of the items on the agenda include; the approval of the FIFA Annual Report 2019, appointment of scrutineers and members to check the minutes, suspension or expulsion of a member, annual report and the consolidated financial statements for 2019.

The other items on the agenda are; the FIFA statutory financial statements for 2019, Auditor’s report, report by the chairman of the FIFA audit and compliance committee, vote on approval of the consolidated financial statements for 2019 and the FIFA statutory financial statements for 2019, revised budget for 2019-2022 and detailed budget for 2021, appointment of the auditors for 2020-2022 and the President’s speech among others.

FIFA said results for 2019 - the first year of the 2019-2022 cycle- show that FIFA consolidated its solid financial position and was performing well within budget, with a higher revenue than forecast and all expense categories under control.

“The FIFA Congress will be streamed live on FIFA.com and will be followed by a press conference,” said the FIFA communication.
