CECAFA U-20 CHALLENGE CUP: Eritrea to face Uganda

Eritrea’s U-20 national team has been drawn alongside Sudan, Djibouti and hosts Uganda in Group A for the Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup slated for September 21st to October 5th.
Group A teams will play at the Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu district located 333km from the capital Kampala.
Eritrea will open their campaign with a game against hosts Uganda on September 21st, after the opening match between Sudan and Djibouti at the same venue.
“We are set for the competition and 11 teams have all confirmed apart from Rwanda who have a busy schedule. The Djibouti team has already arrived in the country,” said Nicholas Musonye, the Secretary General of the Council of East and central African Football Associations (Cecafa).
According to the fixture, Group B matches to be played at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru will start on September 22nd, while Group C matches also in Njeru kick-off September 23rd.
The best two teams from Group C will join the other six from the two other groups for the quarter finals.
Last month Cecafa organized the U-15 Challenge Cup in Asmara, Eritrea. Uganda humbled Kenya 4-0 in the final to emerge champions.
Group A - Uganda, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti
Group B - Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zanzibar
Group C - Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia
