Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup: Kenya too good for Sudan

Coach Sagar Lakhani’s Kenyan team humbled Sudan 4-0 in Group A match in the on-going Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup in Asmara, Eritrea.

The win at Asmara National Stadium on Sunday saw Kenya maintain their lead on the log with six points.

Kelvin Wangaya Injehu scored two goals for Kenya in the 12 and 27th minute before Joseph Odera Munala made it 3-0 going into the interval.

Sudan also had Hassan Hashim Kodi Komi miss the target earlier.

After recess Sudan’s coach Mohamed Musa made some changes. But Kenya showed they were too good for the Sudan side when Gil Harel scored the fourth after 48 minutes.

Substitute Alsadig Salah Mohamed Thani for Sudan had his well taken shot saved by Kenya’s goalkeeper Alvin Lwangu Odari after 78 minutes.

In the second game Burundi struggled to beat a hard fighting Somalia side 2-1. Jean Charlemagne Iteriteka and Florien Inteyiteka scored for Burundi, while Ali Mohamed Nur netted for Somalia who have now lost two games.
