CECAFA 2019 SENIOR CHALLENGE: We are motivated for game against Uganda – Tekle

Eritrea’s captain Robel Michael Tekle has said the team is well motivated and ready to die a little for the country when they face hosts Uganda in their second Group A match at the on-going CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
The Red Sea Boys kick started their campaign with a 1-0 win over Burundi in a game played on Monday.
On Wednesday afternoon Eritrea will face Uganda Cranes who have won two games against Burundi and Somalia. But Tekle says after winning the opening match the team is well motivated and rearing to go. “We know it is always very tough to face a hosting team, but the spirit in the team is very high and we shall give our best,” added the skipper.
Eritrea’s head coach Haile Efrem Alemseghed made it clear that they will have to be very cautious when playing Uganda. “We shall need to defend well as a team, but also take our chances,” said the coach.
Uganda’s head coach Jonathan McKinstry said their target is to win all the group games so that they top the group going into the semi finals. Uganda beat Burundi 2-1 in their opening match before they stopped Somalia 2-0 in the second game.
But before Eritrea take on 14-time winners of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup Uganda, the Djibouti team will face Burundi in another Group A match.
The best two teams from each group will qualify for the semi finals to be played on December 17th.
