Eritrea enter team for inaugural Cecafa U-17 Women Challenge Cup

The Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) has announced that Eritrea will take part in the inaugural Cecafa U-17 Women Challenge Cup.

Nicholas Musonye, the Cecafa Secretary General told this website on Thursday that the Eritrea Football Federation (EFF) has entered their team for the tournament.

The inaugural Cecafa U-17 Women’s Challenge Cup is slated to take place December 7-19th in Uganda.

Musonye confirmed that seven Federations have entered their teams for the tournament. “We are happy for the assistance that comes from FIFA through CAF to finance these tournaments. It is through these youth tournaments that we shall build stronger teams that will be able to compete strongly with other regions in Africa,” added Musonye.

The teams that have confirmed participation include; Eritrea, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan and hosts Uganda.
