Eritrea pulls out of Afcon U-20 qualifiers

The qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) for U-20 will kick-off on November 22nd in Arusha, Tanzania.
But in the fixtures released on Sunday, Eritrea and Rwanda which had earlier indicated participation had withdrawn and omitted from the fixture.
The Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) indicated that both Eritrea and Rwanda have pulled out of the qualifiers for the region. The tournament will take place November 22nd to December 2 in Arusha and Karatu.
Group B where Eritrea had been placed now remains with Burundi, South Sudan and Uganda. Group C which will also be based in Arusha will have Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan.
Hosts Tanzania, Somalia and Djibouti will be based in Karatu. The best two teams will qualify to play in the 2021 Afcon U-20 event to be played in Mauritania.
