Eritrea has been placed in a tough group ahead of the qualifiers for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

In the draws conducted virtually on Wednesday afternoon Eritrea has been placed in Group B alongside Burundi, South Sudan and Uganda.

The tournament, the first in the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) calendar will take November 22^nd to December 6^th in Tanzania.

Auka Gecheo, the new Executive Officer together with Hassan Amir conducted the draws for both the U-20 and U-17 Afcon qualifiers. Several officials of different Member Associations attended the virtual ceremony.

The best three teams in Group A and B that have four teams each together with the best two in Group C will automatically qualify for the quarter finals.

For the Afcon U-17 qualifiers to take place in Rwanda 13-28^th Eritrea has been placed in Group A alongside Rwanda and South Sudan

Group A: Tanzania, Rwanda, Somalia, Djibouti

Group B: Burundi, Eritrea, South Sudan, Uganda

Group C: Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan

Afcon U-17 qualifiers

Group A: Rwanda, Eritrea, South Sudan

Group B: Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya

Group C: Sudan, Djibouti, Tanzania
