Namibia to miss stars for FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier against Eritrea

The Brave Warriors of Namibia will battle Eritrea in a FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier away to Eritrea without some of their star players.

Interim head coach Bobby Samaria made it clear that they have traveled to Asmara without Petrus Shitembi who is in Germany and Densil Haoseb who is undergoing trials in Morocco.

The Red Sea Camels will host Namibia on Wednesday at the Asmara National Stadium in the first leg of the qualifiers before the return leg on September 10th in Windhoek.

“It was not easy to select this team. We have players missing with injuries and some are on trials across the world. But Namibia is blessed with talent and now the players in have to step up and deliver,” said the coach.

The coach adds that the final 23 are aware of the challenge ahead and he strongly believe they can do the job. “Surely I believe in these guys to go and do the job and see how far we can go in this qualifiers,” he added.
